Avoid Evil Communication (3)

Evil communication thrives in the absence of godly associations. This is exactly why you need the right people around you. Take Solomon’s words for it:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 GWT;
9 Two people are better than one because together they have a good reward for their hard work.
10 If one falls, the other can help his friend get up. But how tragic it is for the one who is all alone when he falls. There is no one to help him get up.

Two people are better than one. This is in the light of godly associations. The verses 11 and 12 are powerful and instructive-
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (GWT):
11 Again, if two people lie down together, they can keep warm, but how can one person keep warm?
12 Though one person may be overpowered by another, two people can resist one opponent. A triple-braided rope is not easily broken.

The truth that some fail to acknowledge is that evil thrives easily in the absence of company, the right company. Weariness sets in with ease and the devil has an easier run on you. Good company will always help you up. The same Solomon spoke of this;

Proverbs 27:17;
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so, a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

The next question is: where do I find the right company?

The answer to this is not far-fetched. Be in the gathering of believers. The local church is God’s big idea. However imperfect, you will find the right company in the local church. Some of us have had (and still have) friendships that lift us spiritually, which we forged in the local church.

Have friends in Church that you pray together, study together, stir up the gifts of the spirit together. When you fail or fall, find it easy to get back to your company and get fired up. The stronger your spiritual relationships and godly friendships, the more difficult it is for you to walk out of God’s will for your life.

Hebrews 10:24-25;
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

When we are together, we can “provoke” and stir one another to do good works. The idea of isolation and solitary Christianity is the enemy’s idea to break that cord that insulates us from the evil in the world, but we are not ignorant. We walk in the word always, always!
