Keep on moving (2)
When God gives us His word, He wants us to wage good warfare with it. We act on the word by walking and working with it. This is why even in teaching what to do with the word, the emphasis of the scriptures is to continue walking in it – the word in our heart, the word on our lips, and the word in our conduct.
When God gives us His word concerning our ministries, we must keep it in sight and trust Him to make good on His word, even as we go for the harvest.
Moses is a good example. He knew He was called, He knew the vision and kept warring with it. This is what God told him:
Exodus 3:12, 14 NKJV So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” [14] And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
It is quite instructive that from the point Moses received this command up until they finally left Egypt, he never begged Pharaoh to let the Children of Israel go. He made a demand every time. This is what we do to the gates of darkness. We go in and plunder, setting men free from the shackles of the enemy. We have not been called to pity the devil as we go about preaching the gospel.
Exodus 14:15-16 NKJV And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. [16] But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Like Moses, God has called us to GO FORWARD. His words to us are: “I am with you always!” Based on this premise, we are to go into the world, preaching the gospel and making disciples of all men. The assurance is that His hands are in our work even as His work is in our hands.
So what do I do with obstacles and persecution in ministry? How do I manage distractions and discouragement? Simple! Stay with the word. Never consider dropping the ball when difficulties come. The fiery furnace is what births the finest of gold, so stay with God’s voice. In the words of our Pastor, contrary winds should drive your roots deeper – it is how ministers are made.
Man of God, keep on moving. Don’t murmur or complain; rather, keep labouring fervently. You can only have God’s kind of harvest using God’s way. So, go forward in your prayer life. Go forward in your consistency and devotion to the word. Keep on preaching, teaching, and trusting God for the harvest.
Pray with this: Lord my hands are strengthened, I receive supernatural strength to stay the course. I am moving forward and will see the heavenly vision fulfilled by my hands.
