In your conduct, be like a child. Listen to Apostle Paul’s letter to the saints in Colossae:
Colossians 3:12 KJV
“Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.”
“Humbleness of mind” is the meaning of humility. Unforgiveness is rooted in pride, and it could be a sign that you are outgrowing the simplicity of heart that you once had as a new believer. When corrected, reprimanded, or treated in a way that may seem belittling, always remember that in your conduct, you must remain childlike.
1 Corinthians 14:20 KJV
“Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”
Be like a child when it comes to malice — do not adorn poor behaviour as your attire. Maintain a childlike heart that is quick to forgive, and easily approachable. When it comes to your spiritual growth, a significant indication of your progress is how childlike you remain.
Finally, in following the leading of the Spirit, remain simple.
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Do not become so wise that you believe you can figure it all out on your own. Acknowledge the leading of the Spirit and let Him guide your path.
