Knowing what to do (2)
Oftentimes, believers have become accustomed to following the leading of the mind and feelings, but God doesn’t lead through feeling or mind. He leads us in our spirit; the more you feed your mind and feelings, the more you feel God is not leading you. There is no time you lack direction, you are always being led, whether or not you are listening. Don’t quieten the voice of the spirit. It is never a problem with God leading you, the problem is what and who are you listening to. Jesus has given us direction, it is our duty to follow.
Reasoning is the voice of the mind. Feeling is of the body, while knowledge, intuition, precision, and understanding are the voice of the spirit. God doesn’t lead us with logic.
When things don’t seem clear, don’t act, slow down, no absoluteness in your spirit that this is right, just slow down, the leading is in your spirit.
Romans 8:14;
For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
We are the sons of God, so we are led by the spirit of God. The believer is led by God, he is led of the spirit. There is no time the believer doesn’t know what exactly to do in the spirit.
How to be led:
The first thing to acknowledge is that you have direction, you are in union with God, the voice of a stranger you do not hear, you know his voice. Always affirm this in your words. As you speak, you quieten feelings and doubts. When it all seems dark, don’t say you are confused but put out the word. Pray to know the leading and to receive the leading.
The first place to know the leading is in the written word, spend more time with the written word. Always stay with the written word, there is no way you will spend time with the written word, and you will be confused. Spending more time with the written word makes it easy for you to recognize the leading of the spirit.
