Knowledge of the same power (2)

Knowledge is too critical to the Christian faith for it to be shunned. The believer is only as effective to the degree of his understanding on and of the faith. Hence why the Pauline  prayer’s emphasis is on knowledge (Eph 1:16-23, Col 1:9-11, Phil 1:9-11)

One thing that’s consistent in all of these prayers is Knowledge, but as the prayer in Colossians focuses on the will of God and that in Philippians focuses on love and how we relate with one another, the focus of the book of Ephesians is more on power.

Eph 1:18-19 – “…the exceeding great power to usward who believe”
Eph 3:20 – “…according to the power that is always at work in us”
Eph 6:10- “be strong in the lord and in the power of his might”

The focus of the prayer in Ephesians is not to have power, but to SEE, AND KNOW the power that is at work in the believer. Accurate knowledge makes a man effective – he begins to see clearly who he is, what he has and what he can do.

The believer doesn’t lack power, he has the authority of Christ on the earth. The essence of the knowledge is for us to put the power we have to use. EVERY BELIEVER CAN EXERCISE POWER ON THE EARTH.

The disciples of Jesus show us a good example of this:

Lk. 10:17-19;
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Such blessedness. This is what we have – the devil is subject to us in his name. The believer really has nothing to fear. To walk in fear is to give room to the devil. Exercise your authority in Christ.

So today, recognise and put to use the great power at work in you, it’s the same power that conquered the grave, Philip preached the gospel in Samaria, demonstrated the power of God and there was joy in the city. (Acts 8)

Say: I bring joy to every place as I ring the bell of the miraculous for I am what the word says I am, I can do what the word says I can do. Jesus is glorified in every place as I minister effectively the power of God to a dying world.
