Life or Death – The power of the tongue (2)

Psalms 141:3
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Proverbs 18:20-21
20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Your life will go in the direction of your words. Whether it’s death or life, the tongue controls it. We must know how to use our words, stop saying nonsense. You keep the devil far from you with your words.
Read Matthew 8:5-12;
The centurion told Jesus he didn’t have to come to his place; all he had to do was send his word, and the servant was healed – Jesus called it great faith. This shows that healing can happen through words. Faith is to keep saying it as long as the mountain is there – your faith should persist as long as it is there.
Read Luke 8:40-48
Looking at the same account in Mark 5, the woman said something – ‘…if I can touch…’; she determined how she was going to be healed, she said it and she did it; this is how faith works. The woman gave the problem a deadline, and it turned out to be the problem’s expiry date. There is a miracle in your mouth – the faith of Christ is an optimistic one, we have optimism in Christ. In life, the believer should always look at the positive – believe that only the best will happen. Never declare defeat on yourself.
Read Numbers 13:26-33;
The spies Moses sent (except Caleb and Joshua) already said they had been defeated, even though God would have given them the land. They were already self-defeated, they already decided how they looked to the inhabitants of the land (like grasshoppers). They had tied God’s hands down with their words. The believer should stop expecting evil, and start expecting good things – let your reality be what God has said.
The believer should create an atmosphere of positivity, where good things and thoughts thrive. Believe the best, hope for the best and expect the best.
James said the tongue is like the rudder of the ship (James 3:4), this means your words give direction to your life. Don’t in the name of reality speak negatively. Never talk fear.
Don’t use your words to oppose yourself, use the right words.
