Making disciples of all nations (2)

Matthew 28:18-20;
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The teaching ministry is the desire of the lord for the world, it is how men come into Christ and how we are to raise men. The ones who have believed have been given the responsibility to reach the world by the means of teaching and we must actively do so for it is the Lord’s bidding.

What are we to teach the unsaved?

Definitely not our experiences nor man’s sin but Jesus, the perfect sacrifice for sins. Paul gives us the details of the gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:1 – 4;
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

In clear terms, what the unsaved man should hear in our preaching and teaching is the facts of the gospel – the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and its implication today.

Romans 4:24-25;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

He was delivered for our offences and because he resurrected, anyone who believes in his work is justified.

The gospel is the faith-inspiring message, not what “we used to do before” but what Christ did for us all in his love.

Romans 10:8-11;
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

This is the flavour of the teaching ministry to the unsaved man, we must not get emotional and judgmental in teaching that we become the sin police, rather we are ministers of reconciliation, teaching every man what God in Christ did for humanity.

Jesus said: go and teach all nations, and then concludes with I AM WITH YOU. We have a treasure to give and work to do, we have become carriers of the news and agents to light up the dark places, we are to pull down strongholds and see to it that Jesus is glorified in every place, this we will do strongly, making disciples of every nation.

Say: I reach out to the unsaved, light up dark places for Jesus and herald the lordship of the word in every place.
