Obeying the leading of the Spirit (4)

Your baseline in Christianity must remain “The Father dwells in me”. Obeying the leading of the spirit is daily, so company (those you have around you) matters a lot in your Christian living.

God’s promise for salvation is that ‘I will cause you to walk in my boundaries’. There is no Christian who does not have the capacity to know what God is saying now, and to follow the leading of the spirit. A believer is not stranded, he knows what to do, when to do and how to do. Yield to the leading of the spirit.

Ezekiel 36:25
(25) Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
(26) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
(27) And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

A new spirit will I put within you, that is God working. When you receive the gospel, you receive a new spirit. Our baseline for Christianity must be that the Father lives in us. Another promise of the new creation is that God will cause us to walk within the boundaries of his will.

Obedience is the proof of obedience, you cannot obey God by rushing, trust the process. Our lifestyle is by the spirit. It is natural for a believer to do the will of God. Stay red-hot, knowing God’s plan for you. Be sensitive. Ezekiel’s prophesy is God’s promise to the new creation, we can walk in his judgment. So, find out, what will God have you do?

Romans 8:9
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 8:14
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Every one of God’s children is led by the spirit of God. He leads us in the simple things. Jesus walked within the Father’s boundary. We saw him pray, give, teach, healing the sick; thus, praying, giving, teaching and healing the sick are within the Father’s boundary. He leads us. Don’t look for the spectacular and miss out on the supernatural. With every obedience, you strengthen yourself to obey more.

For our daily living, we have something to follow – the written word. We can find the leading of the spirit in our prayer and study of the word every day. Be deliberate about Christian living, Jesus grew up like that, we should also follow in his footsteps. (Luke 2:40)
