This healing Jesus (4)

1Tim. 3:15-16;
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

The church is the pillar and ground of truth; ‘without controversy’ means no one argues against this fact. One of the things a church must hold dear is that God was made manifest in the flesh. You cannot take away the incarnation from the explanation of the Gospel.

Jesus explains God well. God manifested in the flesh is the man Jesus Christ. If we have seen Jesus, we have seen God.

Again, Jesus reveals to us the true character of the Father. Jesus healed the sick so much that he was called the healer; he never killed anyone. This shows us that God delights in our physical wellness and does not delight in the death of any man nor does he put sickness on any man as punishment. He is the savior, He is the healer – that is who He is.

Jn. 10:10;
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

He came to give us life not to kill.

Jn. 1:14;
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

In the incarnation, we see him full of grace and truth.

As we have rightly established, because Jesus is alive, He is doing the same things he did yesterday, today. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

He healed yesterday, that means he is still healing today.

Jn. 2:11;
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him

We can’t talk about the glory of God and remove miracles. Miracles show forth his glory. Note that, healing isn’t a show of power but a show of compassion. Oftentimes, the bible would show us that Jesus was full of compassion and as a result, he healed the sick.

Read Lk. 7:12-16;

Jesus had compassion on her and raised her dead son.

Matt. 14:14;
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matt. 20:34;
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him

Healing isn’t a show of power but a show of compassion. Again, it is reflective of what Christ came to do – to heal our hearts, and that’s God’s grace towards us.

We can’t separate healing from the glory of God, Jesus is always willing to heal. The believer must never have the thought that God isn’t willing. He always is. Jesus healed those who had faith to receive from him. So, beyond God’s willingness and ability, you must also be willing to receive.

See Naaman (2Kings 5), he had to go wash himself in the river at the prophet’s words. The woman with the issue of blood (Mk. 5), she kept saying to herself ‘if only I would touch…’. She was full of faith. She didn’t get used to the sickness too despite having it for 12 years. You shouldn’t manage that sickness, receive God’s healing. Sometimes, you just need to cling to faith and forget everything you have ever known.

Trust in God’s power to heal!

The power of God has nothing to do with numbers but with faith. Jesus is alive and he is still healing today. Believe in miracles and receive same. Don’t just be able to preach/teach healing but also to receive for yourself, for your family too.

Healing is free!

See Jairus’ case; (Matthew 9:18-26; Mark 5:21-43)

As Jesus told him to believe, he received contrary news – from sickness to death. Yet as things grew worse, the power of God did not reduce. It’s still at work, effecting healing and a cure. She was raised from the dead.

You must know healing and actively receive it. Put the word of God on your lips. The greater truths are in God’s word. God’s plan for you is healing and it is free, only believe!
