What are your convictions?

2Tim. 3:15-16;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Bible is God-inspired and useful for doctrine – for teaching. Paul makes us know that the scriptures are for conviction. Thus, God’s word ought to be the basis of our core convictions. The world and its influence must not touch our convictions. There are certain things the believer must be convinced about:

1. The believer must be convinced about the word of God. He must be convinced of Christ’s victory over death and of our walk by the Spirit. God’s word ought to become his reality. Oftentimes, you find Christians stick to opinions and views that contradict God’s word, yet they expect God’s word to make a difference in their lives. That shouldn’t be you. BLEED THE WORD. Jesus himself honours the word.

2. The believer ought to be convinced about the church: The church refers to the people and their gathering.

Acts 7:38;
38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

You should be convinced about your local church. God has not called anyone to walk or serve him in isolation. It’s always the tactic of the enemy to isolate Christians, give no room to the enemy. In Rev. 2 & 3, instructions were given to churches and not individuals. Serve in the local church – it’s God’s wisdom for you. You are a member of the church to the extent of your participation in all that’s done in the local church.

Jn. 1:43;
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

Also, you ought to be convinced about the mandate (Mk. 16:15; Matt. 28:18-20)

The way to know a church following God’s plan is that it will always stir you to preach.

Rom. 1:16;
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

No man can be saved outside the gospel. Thus, preach the gospel like Jesus would have you do. Raise disciples and change lives. Choose to live by your convictions as set in the word.
