What is the Holy Ghost doing?

There are different kinds of meetings in a local church. Thus, if you are going for a meeting, you must know why you are going there and what the meeting is for. The different kinds of meetings are;

– Teaching meetings, which is the primary meeting in the church where God’s word is taught.
– Prayer meetings.
– Outreaches where we go out to reach the unsaved and teach the untaught.
· Healing meetings, which is a meeting separated to minister healing (where supernatural energy is supplied to our bodies and gives strength to the weak) to the ones who are ill.
· Ministers’ retreat, this type of meeting is usually for a secluded audience.
· Holy Ghost meetings.

Don’t favour a meeting over another, the believer should know how to utilize meetings, and then he would know how to utilize encounters.

That said, Thanksgiving and Gratitude are spirit-filled activities, that is, it is by God’s spirit. Thanksgiving is about gratitude.

Ephesians 5:18-19
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

A man can train himself in singing hymns, psalms and making melodies. Paul says if we will be full of the spirit, we must learn to practice these.

What are Psalms? They are lines that are breathed by the spirit of God without putting it together in thoughts.

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Our response to everything should be to give thanks, even when things appear as though they are not going as planned.

Colossians 2:6-7
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Paul encourages the believer to give thanks, in spite and despite. Ingratitude is pride and remember, God resists the proud. We must cultivate the habit of giving thanks.

Read Luke 17:11-19;

In verse 14, we see Jesus doing the gift of faith which leverages instructions – their healing was in the obedience to the instruction. Now, 10 people were cleansed, and we only see one person come back to give thanks and Jesus asked ‘Where are the remaining nine?’

Luke 17:17-18
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

Don’t get so busy that you forget to give thanks. Our lives should be full of thanksgiving – Jesus gave thanks., that’s our example, and we should learn to follow him.

Romans 1:21 – Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

The reason some people always see a decline is because of ingratitude.

Say this: I am not ungrateful; I yield to the leading of the spirit always – I am a thankful believer. My lips will forever give the Father thanks.
