You are blessed

The believer ought to keep finding out and to acknowledge his status and who he is in Christ. Apostle Paul opens up one of his letters with the fact that the church (we all – for we are his body) is blessed.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly in Christ:

This verse has been often said to mean that God has blessed us in the spirit and we have to now bring it to the ‘physical’, it’s NOT SO.

The blessing being spoken about here is not an empowerment to prosper materially or for things to run smoothly as it is often used.

Observe how he starts:

“BLESSED be God….”

We sure are not empowering God to prosper, so we must examine it carefully.

Blessed, ‘Eulogeo’ in the Greek, which means to speak well of someone or something. To appraise in an elegant way.

Therefore, Ephesians 1:3 will be rightly put as:

“We speak well of God who has spoken well of us…..”

Paul calls it spiritual blessings, then goes ahead to list what we’ve been blessed with:

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

– HE HAS CHOSEN US, AND WE ARE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME BEFORE HIM

Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

– THE PREDESTINATION UNTO THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN

Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

– WE ARE ACCEPTED, FORGIVEN, WE HAVE AN INHERITANCE

These are the blessings we have in Christ. We’ve got what this world can’t offer. Anyone can have cash, but the spirit of God in the heart of man? That’s the real deal. The truth is God has blessed us far more than what this world can touch or offer, and so we speak well of him.

The psalmist says, “Bless the Lord oh my soul, forget not his benefits.”

Today we can boldly declare that the believer is the most blessed in the world, he houses God’s riches. Be ever conscious of this – it should always ring your heart as this is the very foundation of our faith and walk with God.

Say: I’m chosen, forgiven and accepted, I’m immeasurably and irrevocably blessed.
