You should be reaching the world (3)

Preaching the gospel is what the church exists for. What the Lord wants is a witnessing church. Jesus has placed the gospel in the custody of every believer. He told his disciples: “… you shall be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8)

We are his witnesses…. To the uttermost parts of the earth.

The world is Jesus’s dream, and we have made it ours, go into the world and preach.

Preach – keruso: to announce a piece of news. To make public a piece of information. As a minister of the gospel, you are sent to announce the gospel. That means you should not be tempted to add or remove from the gospel. Preach it in its entirety. Never feel like you have to make it sound more pleasant to the hearer by promising what’s not in the gospel. The facts of the gospel are definite.

2 Corinthians 5:18;
And all things are of God who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.

You must be a minister of reconciliation. The truth is: if you understand the Gospel, it will be loud on your lips… you would want every man you come across to hear it. The reason you can’t explain is that you don’t understand what the Gospel is. The Gospel is the same story, there are no two sides. Paul said if anybody brings about another Gospel, let him be avoided, accursed, shunned and not to be listened to. If we say the Gospel is definite, we must know the facts and chatters of it.

1Corinthians15:1-4;
1 Moreover, brethren I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received and where in ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

If the fact of his death, burial, and resurrection is absent, then you are not preaching, it is called the word of truth, you don’t preach what people like. Choose to stay with the word.

Read John 4:14-29;

Jesus encountered the woman at the well and preached the Gospel. Water typifies the spirit. Jesus preached to her, and the very next thing she did was abandon the water pot (the pot could be anything). Your priority shows your maturity, she ran to the city and told everyone. You have the fullness of the spirit, you shouldn’t keep quiet about it, you must be a preaching Christian. Word men don’t keep quiet.

Acts 9:17-20
19 And when he had received thee meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the son of God.

Paul went straight away to preach, you can never be preaching and be wrong. The duty of the believer is soul-winning. Paul was spontaneous, a mature believer should not take evangelism with levity.

Reaching the world is Jesus’ plan, it is our sole duty to reach the world. You can’t claim to be busier than Paul or Jesus, yet they preached the Gospel, you can’t be too busy for the work. Excuse is for a lazy man, it is not a fruit of the spirit, you can’t reach the world with excuses. That you are fully and actively involved in ministry is proof of growth, it is not in how long you got born again. You can be 76 years old in the Faith and still be a baby Christian. CHOOSE TO GROW.
